Favorite Basket Contest

One of my favorite basketry related websites, Baskets of Joy, is running a contest where you can vote for your favorite basket, and I have entered this wonderful egg basket that I made for your consideration!

This basket is made using a rib construction around two round hoops. What I love most about this particular basket is the fancy handle and rim treatment....it adds just the right amount of interest and flair! While a rib basket is considerably more time-consuming to weave, it really isn't all that difficult to master. All you need is some patience and a good eye for shaping!

Competition will be stiff, as the baskets I am up against are truly amazing creations, including one by my basket friend, Nancy Jacobs from Basket Master's Weavings, and Cathryn Peters, The Wicker Woman, who creates stunning baskets around deer antlers!

Regardless of who you vote for, all you need to do is send an email to:

basketsofjoy@basketsofjoy.com indicating which basket in the Gallery is your favorite!

I'm not sure what the deadline is for voting, so hurry! And THANK YOU in advance!

By the way, Baskets of Joy offers a FREE PATTERN every month for baskets that are fun and easy to weave. And of course, you can find everything you need to weave baskets at her shop.
